Profile
Khursheed Ahmad is a multidisciplinary artist based in India. Khursheed's practice is an organic melange of several cross-dimensional mediums that span performance, text, sound, drawing, found objects, photography, and research. He was born into a Kashmiri indigenous tribe associated with the legendary indigenous theatre Bhand Pathe and in his work he addresses the intersectional issues of Kashmir's disenfranchised and oppressed people. His artistic practice delves into a wide range of subjects, including indigenous knowledge production and community histories; indigenous art and its decline; the decline of craft; and histories and erasures through the colonial impact on the Bhand community in Kashmir.
