Nathalie Dagmang is an interdisciplinary artist based in the Philippines. She works at the intersection of art, education, and anthropology. Through collaborative, socially-engaged projects, she works with communities affected by displacement, disaster, and urban development, using ethnography and pedagogy to inform her studio practice. Nathalie's work employs installations, video, photography, found objects, and assemblages, often paired with workshops, dialogues, and archival materials to create spaces for critical reflection and imagining alternative futures.
Since 2014, she has focused on the Marikina River in Metro Manila, engaging with informal settlements historically blamed for its degradation and threatened by eviction. Through participatory projects, experimental documentaries, and immersive installations, she highlights these communities’ environmental knowledge and stewardship. Nathalie's work examines the aesthetics and politics of disaster management, offering the public insight into riverine life while empowering communities to lead conversations on urban ecology, climate resilience, and sustainable river rehabilitation.
