Profile

Sumi Anjuman is a visual artist and activist born and raised in Bangladesh. A graduate in photography from Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, her work has been exhibited at Chobi Mela (2021). She has also been awarded by the British Journal of Photography and PhMuseum. Sumi’s work draws from her position as a woman in a conservative society and tackles the oppression and agony within that context. Through collaborative image-making, she seeks to build a dialogue between herself and the people whose stories she is narrating.
