Profile

Liz Haedo is a fictional and screenplay writer based in Argentina. Liz writes stories where she investigates social and gender issues in the Paraguayan context. She has an interest in writing fiction because of its power to tell stories that are uncomfortable or silenced, and she uses fiction as a tool that allows a certain (symbolic) revenge: giving prominence to those who are invisible. Some of her work includes the storybook "Pieles de papel" (Arandurá, 2018), the poetry and short narrative "paréntesis abiertos" (Aike Biene, 2019), and her latest book of stories, "Juruguasúlas" (Rosalba, 2022). Liz has published stories in three collective anthologies, and in 2020, she won the PEN/Edward and Lily Tuck Prize for Paraguayan Literature.
