Kendall Shanti is a trans portrait photographer based in Mexico. Her work is rooted in lived experience, and it focuses on memory, territory, and the lives of trans women and other historically marginalized communities.
Through photography, she explores ideas of home, body, and belonging. Working in portraiture, she photographs trans women and people from communities that have long been marginalized, and her images return to questions of where the body belongs and what makes a place a home. She lives and works in Mexico City.
