Profile

Josué Mugisha is a director based in Burundi. Josué's artistic practice is rooted in exploring the body's capacity to liberate speech, creating pieces where movement, speech, and music converge to make the invisible visible.

He has directed approximately ten theater and dance pieces, including the acclaimed "Les rassérénées", which won "Des mots à la scène 2022", and "La première danse politique", a finalist in the 7th edition of "danse élargie". As an actor and dancer, he has performed in significant works such as "Plaidoirie pour vendre le Congo", directed by Aristide Tarnagda, which toured Europe and West Africa, and "East African Boléro", choreographed by Wesley Ruzibiza, which toured Europe and East Africa.
