Profile
Cruzz Taylor is a choreographer, dance artist, and human rights activist based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Cruzz grew up in a region ruled by conflict and violence, and through his practice he prioritizes union and peace, passing a message to young people like himself to fight for a positive change in our society. His work also carries a commitment to alternative education, to bring back certain questions, discussions, and exchanges that the government and school systems do not offer.
In 2019, Cruzz participated in the second module of the diploma “(In) choreographic games” at the Ecole de Sables and he also presented his solo “NDOTO” as part of the Contemporary Dance Night Festival. He held a masterclass for the dance students of Muda Africa in Tanzania and he held workshops on contemporary and Afro-traditional dance at the French Institute of Goma.
