Profile
Asli Uludag is an artist from Türkiye based in Istanbul. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and MA in Research Architecture at Goldsmiths University. Her work investigates the history, materiality and spatio-temporal qualities of contemporary techno-scientific, architectural, and legal interventions to the environment, focusing on sustainable solutions. She explores the local practices and narratives that complicate the determination of technologies as sustainable and the definition of the environment as nature and natural resource. Working site specifically, she utilizes performative processes, mapping, archiving and speculative narratives to make the politics and ecological implications of sustainability visible and offers alternative modes of sensing and making sense of the environment.
