Profile
Amar Limboo is a visual artist based in India. He delves deeply into ecological and social issues rooted in his local surroundings. Through artistic research and a multidisciplinary practice, including site-specific installation, photography, and video, he seeks to explore, document, and reflect on the untold realities and ongoing transformations within the extractive landscape he belongs to.
Amar’s work has been exhibited in the Students' Biennale 2020–21, Kochi (States of Disarray: Practice as Restitution), and he has received several awards, including the Kala Sakshi Art Scholarship 2020–21 and the Artdemic Week Award 2021 (a Gujral Foundation initiative). He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata.
