tocuen liberata (Andi Icaza-Largaespada) is a visual artist, researcher, and facilitator with ties and responsibilities to queer and displaced communities from Mesoamerica and the global south. Queer theory, somatics, decoloniality, and ecology inform their interdisciplinary audiovisual, writing, and social practices. Their work moves through creative publishing, installation, workshopping and performance, exploring themes of grief, collective resistance, audiovisual political culture, gender and ecology. tocuen liberata collaborates transnationally, turning towards the poetics and community-interdependence of practice, and misses their dogs on a daily basis.
