Ali Azca is an electronic musician, film sound designer, and multidisciplinary artist based in Indonesia. Their practice weaves together noise, ambience, live/creative coding, and online meme archives to explore and promote freedom of expression. They develop experimental music and sound art projects under the moniker “bahtera.”
Azca is part of Taman Kata Kata and co-initiator of Paguyuban Algorave Indonesia. Through their artistic practice, they have been actively involved in Indonesia’s contemporary art scene, participating in events such as Pagelaran Algorave Indonesia #1 (2021), Asana Bina Seni: Silang Saling – Biennale Jogja (2022), Jogja Noise Bombing (2023 and 2024), and Algorapture v1: Live Coding Audio/Visual Surge (2024), among others.
