Standing in solidarity — amplifying voices from the Arab region

04 October 2024

We at the Prince Claus Fund express our deep concerns over the continued and recent escalations of violence in the Arab region. We stand strong in solidarity with all our Awardees, Partners, and Friends.

Driven by our vision of a world where free and valued cultural expression creates an equitable, peaceful, sustainable, and inclusive future, we continue to support and amplify the voices of artists and cultural practitioners in the region. Today, we highlight the selected work of our Arab Documentary Photography Program, which recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary, stimulating the compelling work of photographers from the region and creating a platform to amplify their stories worldwide. All selected photographers for this post hail from Lebanon and explore the complex realities, strength, and resistance of people throughout the multiple devastating crises of the past years.

With a heavy heart, we restate our call for adherence to international humanitarian law and human rights, condemn the many lives lost, and call the international community to ensure a ceasefire and commit their support to the region.

The Arab Documentary Photography Program is a collaboration with the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture and the Magnum Foundation.
