We condemn and mourn the many civilian Palestine, Israeli, and Lebanese lives lost, and, together with institutional funders, individual donors, and philanthropy professionals globally, we are calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and safe, unimpeded passage of humanitarian aid. Please read the full statement here.
The Prince Claus Fund has long been committed to supporting artists and cultural practitioners in Palestine and the Arab region - from awarding some of the most prolific and inspiring Palestinian artists, such as poet Mahmoud Darwish to developing a longstanding Arab Documentary Photography Programme, together with Arab Funds For Art and Culture and Magnum Foundation. Driven by our vision of a world where free and valued cultural expression creates an equitable, peaceful, sustainable and inclusive future, we will continue supporting and amplifying their voices.
This is a call for all international funders to join the statement and call for adherence to international humanitarian and human rights. Beyond providing urgent humanitarian aid, the international community needs to commit to supporting Palestinian civil society in the long-term.
