Wafaa Samir is a photographer and visual artist living and working in Cairo. Her work explores two main tracks: people’s relationships with their urban fabric and physical spaces as well as a figurative representation of emotions and states of mind. It has been showcased in many group exhibitions in Egypt and beyond, most notably Layer of Green at CIC (Cairo, 2014), NordArt (Germany, 2015), the 1st Biennale des Photographes du Monde Arabe (Paris, 2015), the Arab streets at GPP (Dubai, 2019) and diffusion festival (Cardiff, 2021). Samir won the photography award at the 26th Youth Salon in Cairo and was also part of the Sowing Seeds Art Residency (India, 2018).
