Veena is a multidisciplinary artist based in Sri Lanka. She blends physical theatre, clowning, mask performance, dance, and traditional art forms to inspire healing and empowerment. Veena’s work focuses on gender, trauma, and community engagement. She transforms lives by creating spaces for dialogue, empowerment, and collective healing through art.
Veena’s acclaimed piece "Once Upon a Time, I Was Addicted to You" helps heal abused women through contemporary rituals, while her clown film Sisi and Sisiliya explores gender and knowledge gaps. She is the founder of Clown Camps, where she teaches clowning to children across Sri Lanka, fostering resilience and self-expression. Veena holds a Master of Fine Arts in Ensemble-Based Physical Theatre from Dell’Arte International and a First-Class BPA in Theatre and Television.
