Profile

Shehzor Mujtehadi is a queer Muslim artist, rapper-poet, and video essayist based in Hyderabad, India. They express themselves through English and Dakhni, a language native to the Deccan region. Throughout the pandemic, Shehzor explored their identity, traveling between Bangalore and Bombay in 2022, seeking community among hip-hop collectives and political groups. In 2023, their journey led them to Delhi, where they collaborated with queer organizations and alternative music producers.

Looking forward, Shehzor plans to establish a studio in Hyderabad, aiming to cultivate a supportive community for queer Muslim artists. Their work intersects cultural identity, queerness, and social activism, contributing to conversations on marginalized communities and artistic expression in contemporary India.
