Profile

Sephora Monteau is a filmmaker and photographer based in Haiti. Sephora trained in digital photography at the Centre d'Art de Port-au-Prince and further honed her skills in documentary cinema at FEMIS in Paris. She is recognized as a co-founder of Collectif L'Autre Regard, a pioneering group of Haitian women filmmakers dedicated to mutual support in film production.

One of Sephora's notable achievements includes co-directing "Trois Feuilles" (Three Leaves) alongside Eléonore Coyette, a critically acclaimed film that garnered international recognition and multiple awards. Currently, she is focused on developing her debut feature-length documentary, "Non, je n'ai pas trouvé l'eldorado" (No, I didn't find the Eldorado). For the past five years, Sephora has been instrumental in organizing the "Festival Nouvelles Vues Haïti", a significant international film festival, and the workshop "Femmes et Cinéma", aiming to empower women in the cinematic arts.
