Laobai Wu, also known as Li Jin, is an artist based in China (People's Republic of). They focus on inequalities in urban and rural development, particularly the rights and experiences of marginalised groups such as rural migrant workers and sexual minorities. Their practice addresses these complex issues through art actions, social engagement, filmmaking, and interdisciplinary collaborations, aiming to inspire change.
They are currently working on an art project about "Unclaimed Deaths" related to migrant worker communities. They often collaborate with NGOs and equality-focused organisations such as the LGBTQ Equality Advocacy Association, PFLAG China, Zhentong, and the Beijing LGBT Center. Their multidisciplinary approach seeks to bring critical social and political issues into broader public spaces, sparking attention, dialogue, and collective participation.
