Profile
Eltho K S is a visual artist based in India. Born into a family of rubber tappers and pepper growers in Kerala, his painting practice emerges from lived experience and the layered histories of migration, cultivation, and quiet disinheritance. His work examines how agrarian communities, land, and labour are shaped by colonial legacies and contemporary socio-political structures. Through painting, he engages suppressed histories and everyday narratives often absent from dominant visual archives, treating memory, labour, and place as sites of resistance and political meaning.
Eltho completed his BFA in Painting from Thrissur College of Fine Arts and his MFA in Painting from Kala Bhavana, Institute of Fine Arts, Visva-Bharati University. His practice functions as an act of reclamation, returning to the agrarian histories that shape it.
