Elena Chirila is a visual artist based in Chișinău, Moldova. Elena's work utilises video, ceramics and multimedia installations to address issues such as violence against women, emigration, and the environmental crisis. She studied at George Enescu National University of Arts from Iași in Romania and ESAAA école supérieure d’art annecy alpes in France.
The short film "Tell me a Poem" that she co-directed has been premiered at Filma.Feminist Film Festival in 2023. Her works have been displayed in several exhibitions and festivals in the Balkans and Eastern Europe. As a cultural worker, she has been involved in collaborative projects in Moldova, Romania, and Slovenia, with organizations like Oberliht and Igor Zabel Association for Culture and Theory.
