Profile

Dian Arumningtyas is a researcher and curator based in Indonesia. Dian works closely with topics related to cultural mobility, community involvement in artistic instruments, and textual reading through archives and library collections. Her long-term research project dissects how artist-in-residence programs become a cultural strategy to develop and revitalize communities. Dian currently works as a program director for Indeks, an art organization devoted to tracing various art practices and promoting opportunities for knowledge transfer. Some of her projects include co-curating the exhibition "Post-Localization Syndrome" with Barim-Gwangju supported by the Korean Foundation for International Culture Exchange, publishing an article focusing on mother artists' perspective in residency programs, and being a fellow of the Ishibashi Foundation.
