Based in Baku, Azerbaijan, Agil Abdullayev is a cross-disciplinary artist who works through video, poetry, essays, community-based projects, and critical discussion to address his country’s socio-political and economic issues. In the past, his works have been exhibited in various spaces, such as the Writers’ House Tbilisi (2021), Goethe Institute Baku (2021), South London Gallery (2020), Triumph Gallery Moscow (2019), Contemporary Istanbul (2019), MOMA Tbilisi (2019), Liverpool Biennial (2018), and The Wrong – New Digital Art Biennale (2019). Agil is the founder of "Çağdaşçılar", a discussion platform that supports young, queer, and feminist regional artists and cultural workers.
