Born in 1951 in Maracanã, Master Lourival Igarapé has been immersed in traditional music culture since childhood, following in the footsteps of his ancestors who were deeply rooted in these traditions. At the age of 10, he moved to Igarapé Açu, where his passion for cultural expressions continued to grow. In the 1970s, he relocated to Belém, and by the age of 28, he had fully reconnected with his cultural heritage. As a percussionist, Master Lourival became an integral part of carimbó groups and other cultural manifestations, keeping the vibrant traditions of his people alive through his music and dedication.
