Profile
Thara is a film writer and an emerging filmmaker based in Cambodia. He is the founding editor-in-chief of MARG1N, a film magazine devoted to cinema in Southeast Asia and published in Phnom Penh. Alongside his writing, he currently works as a production assistant at Anti-Archive, and he regularly programs film screenings and speaks on film criticism across the region.
His own moving-image practice has included several video works, and BA PHNUM is his first produced work for cinema. He joined the Purin Film Fund's Short Film Camp in Bangkok in 2022, and in 2024 he was selected as a Flaherty Fellow.
