Profile

Frank Mugisha is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Rwanda. Frank was trained in contemporary dance, breakdance, and African traditional dances, which he fuses to create a unique artistic identity. As a creative facilitator, filmmaker, educator, and performer, he uses his art as a tool for self-expression and a vehicle for social change. Frank’s works have been showcased in theaters and festivals worldwide, and he has been recognized as one of the 20 Most Promising Upcoming Young African Choreographers. His solo work, "ROYALTY," was selected for presentation at the 2021 "Africa Dance Biennial". Frank is a member of SwitchPoint Future League, a group of six exceptional young African leaders chosen by Intrahealth International, the Global Fund, and ONE Campaign Africa to use their unique voices to raise awareness about the value of prioritizing health and ensuring efficient domestic financing for health services. He is also the co-founder of Soul-Xpressions, a youth development organization based in Uganda.
