Monon Muntaka is a freelance photographer and activist based in Bangladesh. Monon’s practice deals with social issues, culture, women, and documentation of these in relation to each other. Her work addresses the trauma of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse, revealing diverse and layered stories about gender through an emotional and empathic perspective. Monon has participated in a number of national and international exhibitions, and her work has appeared on several platforms, including LensCulture, Inonica, femLENS, and Al Jazeera. In 2022, she was one of the commissioned artists for the British Council's international co-creation project, Artists Make Space.
