Mervine Aquino is a filmmaker based in the Philippines. Mervine’s practice often gravitates towards entanglements of memory, histories, spaces, and dreams, mostly based on experiences in his hometown, Baguio City. His recent personal and collective work revolves around labor rights advocacy and documenting Filipino workers’ struggles, examining their place and role in Philippine history. Mervine’s works have been programmed in festivals and venues, such as the Taiwan International Documentary Festival, the Asian Artist Moving Image Platform in South Korea, the Southeast Asian Short Film Festival in Chicago, and more.
