Profile
Enero y Abril is a Mexican artist from Xalapa, Veracruz. She experiments with micro and macro histories through collage, photography, video, and fanzines. Her work creates dream-like atmospheres that blur the border between fiction and reality. She studied photography in the Universidad Veracruzana, and attended the Seminario de Género MUAC-UNAM as well as Centro de la Imagen’s Seminario de Fotografia Contemporánea (CDMX). Enero’s works have been awarded with the Young Creators FONCA grant and Bienal de Arte de Veracruz’s 1st prize (2020). In addition, she has been selected to participate in The Big South: States of Mind Outside of the Center and the Circuito Latino-Americano de Arte Contemporáneo, Brazil (2022).
