Profile

Elena Chemerska is a researcher and visual artist from North Macedonia. She graduated from the Master Institute of Visual Cultures, the Netherlands with a Master of Art and Design in Fine Arts. She has exhibited her work at Firstborn Girl 8 Festival for Feminist Culture, North Macedonia (2020), Monumental Fluxus, Netherlands (2019), and had a residency at The Hub of the Ephemeral, Croatia (2020). Her practice is embedded in exploring the relationships between aesthetics, materiality, and politics. She combines painting, drawings, sculptures, and video to build elaborate installations that function as speculative spaces.
