Profile
Alegría González is a freelance photographer and visual artist based in Paraguay. Her work navigates through individual and collective sensitivity, exploring themes of history, memory, and emotional expression through various mediums including documentary, installation, and performance art.
Currently, she is engaged in the research project "Archivo de Sentimientos", developed with the support of the Human Rights Coordinator in Paraguay. This project stems from her earlier work, "No escribas en las piedras", which was exhibited in Bogotá and Asunción and selected for several experimental film festivals in 2023. María Alegría is also a member of the collective “Historias Desobedientes: relatives of genocide for memory, truth, and justice”, further emphasizing her commitment to social justice and historical truth.
