Since July 2016, HRH Constantijn van Oranje has been Special Envoy for StartupDelta, which acts as an accelerator for startups in the Netherlands. He is Director at London based Macro Advisory Partners and Fellow at Deloitte Centre for the Edge. He advises companies and the European Commission on their digital innovation strategies. In 2017 Prince Constantijn and his wife, Princess Laurentien founded the Number 5 Foundation for social innovation, dialogue and civic engagement.
Before (1995-1999) Constantijn worked at the European Commission in the Cabinet of the Commissioner for Foreign Affairs. After an MBA at INSEAD he switched to strategy consultancy at Booz Allen & Hamilton in London and policy research for RAND Europe, where he lead the Information Policy and Economics Team and founded the RAND Corporation’s Brussels’ office. In 2010-2014 he returned to the European Commission, first as an advisor and later as Head of Cabinet for the Commissioner for Digital Agenda Vice President Neelie Kroes.
Constantijn is Chair of the Advisory Board of the Foundation for Internet Domain Registration in the Netherlands (SIDN), Chair of the Prince Bernhard Nature Fund; Patron of the National Musical Instrument Fund; Patron of the World Press Photo Foundation; and Patron of the National Violin Contests.
