Building Beyond Cycle 1
Reimagining the future of African cities
In collaboration with Creative Industries Fund NL
The inaugural Cycle 1 of Building Beyond comprises of 12 artists from 8 countries on the African continent, who use their creativity to tackle social challenges such as the visibility and participation of local communities in urban design, the decolonisation of architecture, and social justice.
The cohort is guided by four mentors, who are experts in their field, and participants coming together to jointly reflect on the future of cities and communities, whilst each developing a concept that fits into their wider practice.
