Taraneh Esmailian is a filmmaker and writer based in Tehran, Iran. Taraneh is known for her thought-provoking documentaries and narrative films that explore themes of identity and societal challenges. She studied Cinema at Tehran University of Arts, where she honed her skills in storytelling through visual media.

Notably, Taraneh wrote and directed the acclaimed documentary "Behind These Tapes", which received a nomination for Best Documentary at the Nahal Film Festival. Her collaborative works include co-directing the short films "It All Starts with this Salad", premiered at the Film Week of TUA, and "Almost Intangible".
