Chmba Ellen Chilemba is a Malawi-based mixed medium creative. Passionate about music since the age of seven, Chilemba started by making mixes as a representation of growing up in today’s world. During her economics studies she taught herself music production, and, in 2020, Chilemba’s first EP was warmly greeted with over 10,000 streams - a production of afro-indie/electronic music. Her music centers around her Malawian heritage whilst recognizing electronic influences. Platforms such as Facebook and TikTok have been helpful in sharing her music since in this male-dominated industry only less than 2% of music producers are women.
