Yoka Brandt is a Dutch diplomat with a distinguished career in international relations and development cooperation. Since 2020, she has served as the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the United Nations. Prior to this role, she was Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2016 to 2020 and held senior leadership positions at UNICEF, including Deputy Executive Director for Partnerships.
With decades of experience, Brandt has also served as the Director-General for International Cooperation and held ambassadorial posts in Uganda and Eritrea. Her early diplomatic work included various assignments in The Hague and abroad. She holds a Master’s-equivalent degree in Geography from Utrecht University and the Development Economics degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
