When it was founded in 2004, Mezrab fitted inside a small teahouse in the city centre. Since then, it has grown into a venue with hundreds of events each year, attracting visitors from around the globe. Known for its intimate living room atmosphere, Mezrab gives every visitor a warm welcome. In 2020, it was awarded the Amsterdam Prize for the Arts, in recognition of its significant contribution to the city’s cultural life.
