Hendrikje Crebolder is a cultural leader and former lawyer, the first female board member of the Rijksmuseum, where she significantly expanded its international reach.

Profile

Hendrikje Crebolder (1970, Sumve, Tananzia) - after working as a lawyer at the international law firm Baker & McKenzie for 10 years, she joined the Rijksmuseum in 2006.

There she set up the museum's Development department which under her leadership generated many sources of income, both domestically and internationally, and nurtured and maintained broad support across society.

In 2017 she became the first female board member of the Rijksmuseum. She had great success in this role, connecting the museum with partners and reaching out to worldwide audiences in innovative ways. Under her leadership, the project and designated fund 'Women of the Rijksmuseum' was launched for more equal representation of women in the arts.

Currently, Hendrikje is a board member at various organisations, such as TEFAF Global Advisory Board,  Supervisory Board of Vlisco and International Board of Manifesta and Eye Museum.
