Join us on 27 September 2026, from 16:00–18:00, for "The Frame Cannot Hold the Ghosts", a screening and reading programme with Seed Awardee and Exchanges with W139 resident Komtouch Napattaloong, alongside Kaisa Saarinen, and Bart Seng Wen Long, extending from their collective installation and bringing into focus their distinct yet sympathetic approaches to narration and storytelling.

Lingering within the hallowed space of the makeshift rubber tapper shelter in the main exhibition gallery—between the CRT monitor and the modern flatscreen, and among stacks of anarchronistic agitprop—are persistent ghosts biding their time to re-manifest. They emerge as kinky anecdotes of a middle-aged Singaporean rubberist; a veteran camcorder flickering through its last pixels; eccentric mythologies that have built, and continue to sustain, a nation’s spirit; and dreams kept alive by trees that bleed freely, night after night.
These ghosts gather in "The Frame Cannot Hold the Ghosts", a programme that expands upon the themes entangled within the installation through three short films, an interview with a gimp, and excerpts from a hybrid nonfiction work in progress.
