Jazgul Madazimova is an artist based in Kyrgyzstan. Jazgul studied International and Comparative Politics at the American University of Central Asia, and at ArtEast, a contemporary art school in Bishkek. She is primarily interested in public and social practice art, and she uses the tools of art to work around themes of migration and borders, stories and experiences, perspectives, and gender. One of Jazgul’s primary techniques is the use of performative installations. Jazgul practices a collaborative and socially engaged approach, integrating artists, spaces, and communities. She is a member of Davra, an art and research collective from Central Asia.
